So we started a blog to keep people up to date about our new life in Colorado. Crazy, we know!

Pumpkins are for November too

So I've heard that people would like us to write more than just when we get a new addition in our lives, haha! So here is a post about our lives for October. The first pic is me at Chile's enjoying some dessert. Andy is behind the camera, and the key lime with the whipped cream is definitely his! Even though budgets are all tight right now, we try to still get out now and then for a date!

Another thing we did this month was the traditional pumpkin carving (we've done this together for quite a few years now. The pic above is Andy's pumpkin of wolves howling at the moon.

My pumpkin was a cat, and I think my carving job made it look even scarier!

We learned something new about Colorado. It's so dry here, your pumkins shrivel up really really quick. This is the day after we carved them and Andy's middle wolf is already having troubles. It wasn't much longer and they were a goner. We actually didn't even get to use them on the actual 31st. Oh well.

Welcome Atti!!

So we have a new addition to our new little family! Her name is Atti, and she is a beautiful miniature Australian shepherd! She is about two years old and we rescued her from a shelter here in Denver called the Dumb Friends League (dumb referring to the fact that pets can't talk, not that they're stupid).

We have been looking for a couple of days now, and hadn't found anybody that was just perfect for us. Yesterday, we went back to Dumb Friends, waited for almost 2 hours (they accidentally took us off the waiting list), and by the time we actually got into a visiting room we were tired and annoyed. But once she came into the room, we were sold. She was so beautiful and calm and her beautiful blue and brown swirled eyes made our hearts melt. I'm only sad the camera doesn't do her justice.

She was sent to Dumb Friends from another shelter before she got come home with us. She is super sweet and doesn't jump or even bark so far. We think she already was taught how to sit by whoever owned her before she got lost and is most likely house trained (or at least has done well so far). She even walks great on a leash!

After we picked her out, we went to PetCo and got lots of pet things to make her feel at home. She is still a little shy (especially of the camera), but she loves being with us and follows us around the apartment. I think she is afraid we might leave her and not come back, but of course we could never do that! She seems to be comfortable with new people and seems interested in other dogs, but she is definitely not the aggressive type.

She didn't like me trying to take so many pictures of her, but everyone wants to see her!

She loves sitting with Andy. This morning (if you can call it morning) she wanted to get up with him. She already seems like the perfect dog for us, and we can't wait to bring her home at Thanksgiving so many of you can meet her too!
